ZORROS: A platform for cultural criticism.
Exit Art introduces a new printed and online forum for writers and cultural thinkers to converge on resonant topics. Zorros will provide an opportunity for immediate commentary on approaches to our historical reality, current cultural mechanisms, and the quest for new tendencies in creativity.
Our first issue will focus on the themes addressed in the current multimedia exhibition WILD GIRLS (June 24-August 26). The exhibition features a bold international group of 30 transgressive, provocative, women artists that are breaking new boundaries and asking challenging questions. Building on innovations of the women that have come before them, these artists are transforming the language of feminism for the 21st century. Each of the exhibiting artists add to the global feminist dialogue as they bring their unique cultural perspectives that also reflect customs from their countries of origin including Argentina, Bulgaria, Chile, Croatia, Puerto Rico, India, Japan, Turkey and the United States.
Exit Art is putting out the call for you to lend your voice in response. Whether through analysis, critique, prose, poetry or otherwise, we want you to elaborate on the ideas presented in WILD GIRLS. The first issue of ZORROS is scheduled to print in early September.

Tenderfoot #3: First Fall
TENDERFOOT is a compilation zine about firsts. The theme for the third issue is "first fall." All genres of written work are welcome: non-fiction, fiction, journal / diary entries, emergency room reports from that fall that caused actual injury, poetry / lyrics, interviews, manifestoes, and so forth. Feel free to interpret the theme as loosely or as literally as you wish. (And also, keep in mind that you don't have to write or make art about *your* first fall.) Art folks: I'm also looking for visual stuff... comix, illustrations, photos, anything you feel I would be able to reproduce easily on a standard copy machine. A literary zine in no man's land is looking for submissions for its next issue, due out dec. 4th. the deadline is nov. 23rd, so if you have anything lying around, send it in.
the themes: 'everything yuo think you know is fake' and 'alternative realities'
the low-down: writing: fiction, non-fiction, poetry, any type of writing. under 3000 words. please send files in email attachment with a short bio (20-50 words). feel free to plug any upcoming publications or gallery openings or birthdays.
art: pictures, sketches, drawings, anything, really. hi-res images (300 dpi), by email attachment.
if you don't make it for this issue, we put one out every 5-6 weeks, so don't hesitate to submit anytime.

Chocoholic! #2: Another Zine About Chocolate
Chocoholic! is the zine dedicated solely to chocolate. We want anything and everything related to chocolate: recipes, comics, artwork, personal essays, fiction, doodles, reviews, chocolate news, weird product finds, and anything else sweet and chocolate we can get our hands on. Right now I'm looking for submissions for issue #2, which is VERY loosely themed "The Po' Girl Issue," although submissions do NOT have to adhere to that theme at all-- we just want chocolate-related material. Did you ever resort to stealing chocolate or doing something really outrageous to obtain chocolate? Do you made homemade chocolates? Do you know of a Cheapo Chocolate Warehouse where you stock up on dirt-cheap chocolate? Did you ever encounter an exceptionally bad (or good) bar of bargain brand chocolate? Ponder these issues, and write (or draw) about it. I'd really like to have a lot of comics and artwork for this issue. Issue #1 was quarter-size and 42 pages and issue #2 will be as well, so plan accordingly. If you're not sure if your submission is appropriate, send it anyway. All I ask is that it is chocolate-related. All contributor's get a free copy if I use your submission. Issue #2 is due out in October (maybe Septmeber, but who knows). zinester's coloring book
I am starting a compilation of zinester's drawings to be included in a coloring book! Inspired by the theraputic effects of coloring in my own drawings in my sketchbook, I thought it would be quite splendid to put out a full-sized zine of various zinesters line drawings and comics for others to color in.
So here are the specifics for submissions:
*the theme is, very loosely, a random moment/event/happening that happened to you, that you imagine happening to you, etc... you can be creative with this!
*drawings/comics should be able to fit on an 8x11 sheet of paper (this will be a full-sized zine)
*your drawing does not have to be complex or intricate or even good! just make it so that it has enough spaces in it that people can use atleast a few colors to color it in. ideally, your finished drawing should probably be done in ink and/or marker.
*needless to say, please do not submit any racist/sexist/homophobic/offensive drawings. not that you would. i just have to say that.
*your drawings and comics can be submitted in 2 different ways:

Ronald Reagan interrupted my life both dead and alive, so i have decided to put together a comp. zine about all the "great" (read major sarcasm) things he did. sex- does it even mean anything anymore?
